This one is a very special Grimoire and one of only 12 copies in existence. The text covers every single level of occult knowledge.
As you know I always work with a blank canvas, the book is restored, re-sewn to period and bound in a raw veg tanned skin, in this case a consecrated calf. All the work is done in planetary days and hours.
The book is bound so now all the work is done ON the finished binding, so there is NO margin for error whatsoever. The dyes are fermented from plant extracts and 3 colours are chosen and applied.
The gilding comprises of 8000 impressions of 4000 tools, each tool blinded in first and gilt after. The only tools used are 10pt and 6pt handletters, a full point, a very small pentagram and different sized pallets (straight lines) and gauges (curved tools). The Latin text is first hand lettered around the edge of the recto side.
Then its to work on the celestial signatures ....or sigils.
All the work is based on the Metatronic cube, the first sacred geometry design that all geometry is based on.
So here the recto side is complete included is the crowned serpent with the hieroglyphs and now to start the verso side.
This is a little trickier as I had to make special dyes to get the colours right for the Rose Croix which is inlaid and gilt. The Latin text continues all around the book.
Now it is the start of the Enochian work.
Followed by the Goetic seals and the Angelic seals that create balance....and now for the 8 power seals.
Verso side complete.
So now both sides are gilt all that remains is the spine.
But we are still not done! All the edges of the boards are now hand lettered in Latin also.
