He's been a long while! Where's the lad been and what has he been up to??
Well it's been a long hard journey but boy have we had fun on the way.
I was offered a workshop in a School for the Restorative Arts in Niagara in 2005 and came back to Canada to measure up in 2006. After 3 weeks of searching for property in the Niagara region, the missus went out with her girlfriends one day and found a beautiful Old Church Manse set in grounds with 500ft of lake front lapping at the garden's edge. "This is where I want to live" she said "And it's only a 2 hour drive from Niagara, 3 hours in the winter"! Well I had to think hard and fast, do I want to spend 6+ hours a day in the car in -20+C during the winter? "No contest" said I, "I'll convert the big old barn into a studio workshop and work from there"
So in October 2006 I started to pack the workshop and the house, you wouldn't believe the boxes 530 in all, one and a half containers full. It was a tearful departure, I'd spent 11 years in my old workshop so everyone was used to my irritating and annoying little quips, but would the Canadians be able to cope, would they understand the sense of humour, how long will it take for them to realise what they've done!
