Bookbinding12Old Rare Books and Your Library  Working with hand-made paper Paul lovingly restores books, creating more than a 'modern replica' . It is in fact  much more than this in bookbinding terms. Paul values his books for insurance purposes and the insurers have told him that his bookbinding work raises the value.

Purple_stagesBookbinding Tips  This is where Paul regularly posts his popular bookbinding tips.  Did you know bookworms could burrow a hole straight through 27 books so that if you threaded a string through you could lift all twenty-seven volumes!
You do now.  Post your comments, requests and tips here.

Tronsons_charles_11_042Bookbinding  The Art of Royal Bookbinding has long been lost, since Zhaensdorf himself hung up his cow gown in the mid nineteenth century.  Zhaensdorf wrote the Art of Bookbinding that became the bible for all apprentice bookbinders. Paul Tronson recreates all styles of Royal Bookbinding in the true period tradition.

Colour_bible_two_togetherAncient Antiquarian Bookbinding The lifetime of a book is extended every hundred years or so by rebinding. There are very few books  that have not been rebound and those in need of rebinding are naturally falling to pieces  through  exposure to the  elements and through use.
